John Mayer's Pentatonic Trick

I saw John Mayer live and learned an interesting bit from his performance, especially on an extended solo he took on his song Slow Dancing in a Burning Room. His manipulation of pentatonic notes is extremely interesting and strangely simple when you break it down, and something you can apply to many different blues situations.
