Whether you prefer Hendrix or SRV, there's no denying each man's skills and contribution to the guitar world. Both were taken from us too soon, and both left a lasting impact on music. Stevie Ray Vaughan was notorious for his unmistakable tone, largely due to the heavy gauge strings and his sheer attitude toward the instrument. Tightrope wasn't his biggest hit, but I'll be damned if it doesn't have all the best ingredients of SRV's iconic guitar playing layered in, and I consider it to be his best solo when it comes to phrasing and overall impact on a song.
