Guitar Solos: Using the Diminished Sound

In this lesson, I present to you a Diminished 7th arpeggio that I've turned into its own scale, which I refer to throughout the video as "The Diminished Scale." Basically, it's a reduced version of the Symmetrical Diminished Scale, which can be interpreted as either a half step-whole step or whole step-half step arrangement, depending on the way you analyze it against the chords you're playing. If you're new to the Diminished sound, this video is perfect for you, since it shows you how to take the primary note of the Diminished sound, the double flat 7th (bb7) and integrate it into your playing. I left out the rest of the notes because those can be a bit confusing to seamlessly introduce in a musical way; it's better to start small and build up from there. I will be doing a lesson on the entire Symmetrical Diminished scale in both varieties in a follow-up to this lesson in the near future, so stay tuned.
